MULTAN,Jan 13th: At least eight children of primary classes have died and another 15 injured, four of them are in precarious condition.DSP Murid Abbas said," Eight students including two real brothers have died and another 15 injured," DCO Railway Multan Bashir Ahmed Khan said," An educators School van carrying 24 students was going to school from Musa virk to Mian Chunnu. As it reached at a unmanned level crossing,the bus driver tried top cross it. In the meantime Lahore Bound Jaffer Express coming from Quetta hit.at 0810 am on Wednesday.Resultantly Six children died on the spot. Medical Superintendent of Tehsil Head Quarter Hospital MIan Chunnu said," we have received only Six bodies including a girl- student and 15 injured, of them four were referred to Nishtar Hospital Multan because they were very serious. Those who died identified as Amer Zahoor, Faisal Zahoor, Mish'al, Ahmed,Shoaib son of Niaz Ahmed, Dilawar son of Abdul Shakoor,Ahmed Ali, Tanvir Ahmed son of Amir Ahmed, Safdar son of Muhammad Yasin .MNA Aslam Bodla from Mian Channu claimed that at least 11 schoolchildren and a driver lost their lives in Mian Channu accident when a school van was hit by a train near Musa Virk on Wednesday.Aslam Bodla said there are at least three unmanned level Crossing in Mian Channu city.He said the thick fog coupled with the unmanned Railway Crossing with no gate has been the cause of the accident, adding he had recommended to the government to take action to erect gates at these three Railway Crossing; but no action was taken, resultantly the accident occurred.
