LOW PRESSURE/ CLOSURE

MULTAN,Jan 11th: .CNG stations of Southern Punjab zone have been closed for two days as per schedule announced by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural resources . On the other hand, gas loadshedding for domestic customers is continued uninterruptedly, due to which people are facing problems. At least 294 CNG stations of South Punjab are closed under gas management plan. Domestic users are getting gas with low pressure. Gas remains suspended in most of the cities at daytime. Due to which, even cooking has become a difficult task. Gas has also been suspended to a number of factories and textile units in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad and Lahore, . Spokesman of Sui Northern Gas (SNGPL) , the company is receiving 2,100 million cubic feet (mcf) daily while demand of gas is 2,300 mcf. So for, the company is facing shortfall of 400 mcf.Some CNG station also remained closed on Sunday due to low pressure of the gas But it was available on some stations countering long queues of gas consumers’ cars. Stations tripped due to low gas pressure caused by intense cold weather, CNG dealers said.Domestic and commercial consumers have complained of undergoing hard time due to rising plight of gas shortfall and load shedding, sources said.
Most domestic consumers have started running stoves on kerosene oil, sources further added.
