Pakistani Foreign Minister busy in his constituency

MULTAN, Feb 9th: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi spent very busy three days in his constituency and Multan city.He offered fateha on the demise of a number of voters in his area during last two monthsa. He also attended the Qul-Khawani of Malik Zawwar Hussain Khokhar and inaugurated a number of development schemes in his constituency. Shah Mehmood  on Tuesday admitted that there were problems like increase in prices of petrol, diesel, unemployment, poverty, terrorism, but the government was making sinceres efforts to solve them on priority basis. Addressing a number of corner meetings in Multan's suburb areas.He said as regards prices of petroleum products, these were linked with the international market and any upward fluctuation was reflected in the domestic market. Pakistan imports 85 per cent of the petroleum products from foreign countries. 
Foreign Minister said he did not claim that all the problems had been solved but there should be no doubt that a sincere and ceaseless effort was in progress to address all the issues of national importance and to end poverty in the country. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said He is Pakistani first and interests of the Pakistan would be safeguarded at all costs by him and there would be no compromise on issues of national importance. The Foreign Minister said, neither the government would make any compromise on Pakistan’s interests nor would let anybody else do it.He said that the forces, which were hurling threats after Mumbai incident a year ago, had now invited us to resume dialogue process. Mahkdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, it became possible due to the national solidarity and the pledge to keep moving forward with the same spirit for development of the country.Punjab parliamentary secretary for finance  Dr. Akhtar Malik MPA,  Malik Mazhar Abbas Raan MPA, Union Council Nazim Chaudhry Mohammad Ahmad Gujjar, Fayyaz Bosan were also present.Earlier, the Foreign Minister inaugurated a road scheme (Multan-Budhla Sant) and a Sui gas supply scheme besides laying foundation of two other road schemes including Budhla Sant-Nawan Shehr road and Budhla-Kot Gujran-Khanwala road in Union Council Kothaywala.He said that over Rs 126 million worth of schemes had either been completed or were under execution in Kothaywala union council alone.The minister said that President Asif Ali Zardari had launched an initiative in cooperation with China to develop high yielding varieties of cotton and paddy with potential to give double or triple yield per acre. This would help growers to survive financially by virtue of increase in production and overpower problem relating to prices of agriculture implements, he added.He said work has also begun on Bhasha dam and small dams to address water problem and boost the national agriculture adding “these steps show government’s sincerity to solve problems of growers and improve their financial conditions.”He said, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani laid foundation of many big projects worth billions of rupees for South Punjab recently and termed it as a telling example of PPP-led government’s commitment to uplift the under developed areas.
He said that Sui gas supply schemes for villages including Azam Hans, Kot Gujran, Jalalabad, Kothaywala and their attached hamlets were in progress. He said that Kothaywala Sui gas scheme would benefit over 2075 families or 16000 population of the area.He said a sum of Rs 68.7 million was being spent on Sui gas schemes in these villages while five road schemes would cost Rs 41.5 million. He also announced village electrification schemes worth Rs 15.2 million and added that 24 other village electrification schemes were under execution.
