MULTAN : Activists of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam) have threatened to block all the National highways and main railway track if the water was not released in the 57 canals of Southern Punjab ,said Makhdoom Rajan Bakhsh Gilani, Vice President of PML-Q,while addressing the participants of a demonstration staged in front of Multan Press Club to press the authorities for smooth & regular supply of irriogation water in the canals, water channels{image(64690,center,medium)} of Southern Punjab and save the agricultural sector. The demo was led by Makhdoom Rajan Bakhsh Gilani, Vice President of PML-Q, Rana Muhammad Hafeez acting president of PML-Q (Labour wing). While former federal minister for information saenator Muhammad Ali Durrani joined them to express solidarity with them.They shouted slogans in favour of their demands like regular supply of irrigation water, withdrawal of cases instituted against PML-Q activists during by-polls. Rajan Bakhsh Gilani said that our millions of acres of land going to barren due to non-availability of water and our cattle heads were dying in those areas where subsoil water is brackish.They said that all the canals are lying dry in south Punjab.
