MULTAN,May 16th: Federal Minister for defence production Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan Jatoi has tendered his resignation from the ministry on Saturday late night because his candidate Sami-ullah Leghari has lost the by-election in PP-259 Muzaffargarh-IX. Sardar Qayyum had recommended the name of Sami Leghari for PPP Ticket from this constituency. His opponent Syed Abdul Basit Sultan, an independent candidate won the election.He had served as provincial minister during Pervez Musharraf era. However Pakistan People's Party re-gained the seat of NA-178 Muzaffargarh-ii where Jamshed Khan Dasti re-elected .Jatoi said ," I have no right over the ministry as my candidate lost the by-election. “I am a democratic man, and always took the right decisions in my political life,” he said.
