MULTAN, Feb 2nd:Chairperson of N.A's standing committee for law and constitution Begum Nasim Chaudhry has said<" we have received the suggestions from Mian Nawaz Sharif to finalise the accountability bill and standing committee would review these proposals in its next meeting scheduled to be held on February 6. Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday She said that existing accountability act was framed by the Pervez Musharraf in 1999 which was based on vengeance and victimisaion. She said that retired generals were made chairmen of "Ehtisab Bureau". However, Next chairman of accountability would be from the Judiciary and he would be a retired or serving judge of supreme court. He said that standing committee would also decide the period of accountability however it would be morethan three years. She further said that parliamentary committee was working on the 17 th amendment bill and 58-2b. She said that Government had taken a crucial step due to price hike of crude oil in the international market otherwise Prime Minister was not agree to increase the POL prices.
