RPP will increase power tariff by 87 %,Marvi Memon

MULTAN, Feb 2nd: Pakistan Muslim League(Quaid) leader Marvi Memon MNA said that the coalition government was disjointed and directionless and asked the Government why Shaukat Tarin ,the finance minister had submitted his resignation.He asked what could be worse than a key member of the government such as finance minister showing lack of confidence in the Government and in ruling party leadership ?.She asked whether it was the rental power project fiasco of the ministry of water & Power or the B.T cotton fraud of the agriculture ministry which had forced the Shaukat tarin to attemp to jump from a sinking boat.She was talking to newsmen here today alongwith Rai Mansab Ali Khan, Tariq Gujjar, Rana Muhammad Hafeez and others.She said that whilst the RPP scandal was now being quoted by every Pakistani who would be hit with a record 87 % increase in electricity tariff in two years. ASian Development Bank report also exposed the present regime's tall claims. Government needed to have the courage to give another deadline of ending the loadshedding and the time abide by it.On the BT cotton fraud,she said that Nation want an explanation from the Government how it was signing another MoU with a company which had tried to swindle Rs.5 billion for a BG 1 patent which had expired." The attempts to make deals on expense of the poor farmers and $ 300 million for the technology which was unacceptable even at free of cost. She said that MUslim League would raise these issues in the next session of National Assembly. She demanded answers of many questions relating to corruption cases cited by the media..She complained ," National assembly secretariat keeps dismissing our adjournment motions to discuss them in the house but we will persist," Givingh the highlights of PML Government's policies and achievement she said that the present government could not even protect the 'virsa' given by PML-Q." They accused of us of concentrating on servicesector for economic growth rate.We managed a record 8.4 percent GDP growth rate.but present rulers managed a mere 2% growth rate and have fallen victimof their own accusations as quoted in the SBP report that they were still concentrating on service sector.She stated that both agriculture crediut disbursements and business sector loans had seen a disturbing decrease.She asked," how can an agro based country progress if agri loans have reduced from 44 % growth rate.in our time to a mere 9 % this year ? She said that Government had no strategy to managing the budget deficit which was increasing due to defense, rehabilitation of IDPs. Pml spent rs 117 b in 5yrs on developmnt in multan region vs this govt who gave rs 5b in 2 yrs of which big portion has not been given yet.
